We float into space
the infinite black shroud
inhaling blackness
and cold dark matter
we are clinging to life
without air in our lungs

those are the times
when darkness arises

a dark cloud from the blue
between trading stars
embrace the emptiness
for have you ever lived?

insects, without meaning
will never understand

the gravitational force
will pull you back to Earth
through ravines of stone
and speeding bright rays

as you sit there
in damp sodium light
alone, with the black mass
about your head
you gasp for your life
like a newborn child
back from the dead
