Crown of Seclusion - Child of Dark

As the years go by, the wind of time grows stronger
Clutching at minds and dragging memories away
Of that day, with all those faces, blank
All gathered together beneath a veil of black
The cold is arriving, the sun cowers behind the grey
The end is coming near, as the leaves drift away
The darkness is rising, everything is crashing down
My eyes are opened and it's time to face my failure

And so I walk, forever nowhere
With no one left to lead me through the fall
And so I walk, and embrace the dark
With every step I take, another angel falls

I stand and watch in silence as the sun sets
And slowly, but surely, the cold creeps upon my skin
I have my life, but what meaning does it hold
If everything I ever loved is long dead and gone?
And so I watch the sun set
I yearn to feel warmth once more
When the light is gone, I will have nothing left
But the cold as I'm left alone in the dark
Just once more before I die
To feel the false warmth of light in my eyes
Name your price, thy will be done

Tendrils of hate drift up from the core of my soul
They strangle me, they bind my limbs
The sun finally sets right before my eyes
And a deadly apparition stands before me
She is frail and weak, the body of a walking corpse
Her dress torn to shreds, and soaked in blood
Her burning eyes see through, she sees me for who I really am
She knows she can take me, she knows that I have no choice

She reaches down to take me in her arms
She is cold, yet somehow warm
Reluctantly, I accept her embrace
And then I can see the truth
The leaves fall to the ground and turn to blood
The sun begins to fade into hues of rust
She is the incarnation of pure darkness
She is the mother of night

My world is dead, there will be no redemption
My world is dead, she knows what I've become

Hand in hand, I walk with the night, leaving death in our wake
I can feel my life draining as a smile creeps upon her lips
Too weak to continue, I release her hand
She knows that it's time to leave me, she knows that I have no choice

Released from her embrace, I watch her walk away
I am cold, yet somehow warm
Reluctantly, I accept my final fate
And then I can see the truth
