D.A.D. - Burning Star

If no one gave you the tools to make a real life
They delivered most of the parts,
But you couldn’t get it right
If your mind is blind to laws you knew wouldn’t last
If the boredom of trivial roads lead to a crash

Somewhere up above the clouds
Among a million prayers
Flies a little hope of mine
If someone out there cares

Back on earth, I see it here
It shines its endless light
Alone like us in empty space;
The burning star of life

There are dreams on earth
You need three lives to fulfill
And there are lives you’ve lived ’till the end
By standing still
We’ve got too many lives at either end of a knife
We’ve had plenty of lives cut short
By what we carry inside..

Tell me something I don’t know
Maybe I’ve lived too long
I’ve got a bad case of I told you so
And it’s hard to hold my tongue
