Parasitic Extirpation - Beating Heart Cadaver

Flashes of light wash over closed eyelids, the gurney crashes through heavy steel doors. He feels the cold hospital air brush against the flesh of his chest, paralyzed in a motionless shell, irreversible unconsciousness. The warm white heat of the surgical lamp hovers over his limp body. Completely lucid he asks himself, "Why can't I see that I'm alive?" Organ retrieval begins as he feels each searing incision, the surgeon unzipping his torso like a fucking jacket. The stench of cauterized flesh and insides fill the room. Parting his rib cage, exposing the remains of what's salvageable. The agonizing pain and fear of what's beyond refuses to assist him in any attempt to communicate, and now this beating heart cadaver is just a corpse.
