I work every day
with coaches and trains

at the central station
on Washington Lane.

I'we worked as a station clerk
for thirty-five years,

And I watch them come and go
to Geneva, Paris, Rome,
to the finest places on the Earth
but I've never even tried
to board the train and take a ride,
here is my own place and all my life.

And in my simple life eachday is the same

they tumble in my head
and run through my veins,
