Legend - The Court Jester

The Jester is a man,
Creating laughter when he can.
Everyone will smile today.
The king, he wears a frown
Until the jester comes around.
Laughter is a joke away.
The ages were his own
With legends sung and stories told.
The jester keeps a frantic pace.
Behind the castle walls
And down the darkened corridors
The laughter leaps from place to place.

See the court jester frolicking about,
Just for the king with one mighty shout.
A short frail man with bells on his toes,
Bustling around in loud colored clothes.
The court all laughs and claps at his jokes,
With elbows and fingers, the people, he pokes.
He pulls out his hair, he sticks out his tongue.
He livens the party and has some fun.

The heroes take a chance
To put a dragon to a lance.
Armor plated, knighted fools.
Before me where they'd stand
I'd have an army at my hands.
With laughter as my only tool.
I live my life in jest
And not a sigh will leave my breast.
A laugh no one will ever cry.
A celebration I should have
For all I do and all I am.
Spinning with a twinkling eye.

The countless fun, he even sings.
