The Darksend - Lightmare

I was raised with the belief that the light was good
That it gave you life and nourished your soul
Therefore I ventured on a journey to reach that light
But not in my wildest dreams could I have foreseen this lightmare
Oh, I crawled, how I crawled
Through the darkest regious of hell
Across deserts of painful pride
Before the feet of cloven hoofed god

For my freedom beyond the ridge
Far from here where darkness reign
And serpentkings rule supreme
Leaving behind my harlot mother
To live among the children of grace
To breathe the air, crisp and clear
And bask in the rays of the glowing sun
Where no master of eternal darkness
Ruled my life and poisoned my mind
Where no blood was served as wine
And no creatures had to die

The son of an angel fallen from grace
The jackal's offspring of harot born
Raised in the breath of the dragon red
I inhaled the air to enjoy the light
And tasted a world nor meant for me

Again I crawled, how I crawled
Back to the darkest regions of hell
Across deserts of painful pride
Return to the feet of cloven hoofed god
And I yearned, how I yearned
For my freedom where I was born
Far from there, where light it reigned
As a serpentking, to rule supreme
Now I know that the light is deceiving
It give you death and destroy your soul
Never again shall I leave my darkened world
I shall forever be haunted my lightmares
