Stormhaven - The Storm

Awake for days, I'm now longing for sleep
The crashing waves are calling us into the deep
These liquid lines slowly hypnotize
And bring me back to where it all began

We're drifting more and more and losing control
Our backs turned to the shore, there's no escaping
I choose to face on my own the power of the storm
And as I stand here alone, a certain death awaits me

Forgive my darkness inside
It was not supposed to end this way

Falling fast, I won't survive
This is where I die
Creeping shadows fill the sky
circling above the raging waters

The clock keeps ticking, a twisted decay
These hands are turning, and pulling me under to stay

Hear the thunder, a deafning roar
Feel the power, of the storm
Of the storm

Countless lives were lost tonight
Here within the emerald eye
A pauper's grave for them to rest
Washed away forever from the surface

No epitath, no stone
No one left to mourn
In seconds, life erased
Behind them not a trace
Becoming distant memories

Why am I the only one that still breaths?
Drowning in a flood of liquid agony
Hoping that the stars would now collide
To help my escape from rising tides

Lightning sparks the flames of war
A sealed fate for all aboard
The clouds will fall and turn to black
Here darkness reigns and there's no turning back

We are lost in a dream
Trapped inside my own fantasy
I've witnessed what I could not believe
These liquid lines and shifting imagery
Push back the stones of reality
Shattered to pieces, I'm trying to hide
This moment of weakness has torn me up inside
