I stood by the altar in the shadow of my doom

I drank to fate and vanity
My life-blood's infected to the core of my soul
Quietly, essentially,
My soul is trapped in agony

As I breathe
My body aches
I can't feel anything
My medicine is keeping me alive
I wish to die
This dark concoction is the death of my emotions

Nepenthe is keeping me alive
Nepenthe, clouding my mind

You gathered the ashes
For our worlds to reunite
I can't define this new perception of reality
My spirit was cast into the great cosmic void
Petrified, oblivious
My body crumbles into dust

Suddenly I felt the spark
Of one last living cell inside my heart
A mere illusion of a troubled mind
I'm but a ghost without a purpose of existence
