Once I would think, "I choose my destiny,"
Shields against the pain, I began to rise
I swore nothing would hurt me anymore
Cold walls, smooth like gold
I began to grow

Behind these walls I faded
My fears held deep inside
But still the world remained outside
Though I had closed my eyes

Though nobody knows the cross I bear
And I cry with no tears
The darkness is my only guiding light
HIDE the scars that never show
Now nothing gets through me anymore
The feelings I denied
Distant dreams in my mind

Once I would think, "I can rule everything,"
I was such a fool hoping to feel no pain
I swore to the world
"Nothing will hurt me anymore."
Cold, vain like gold
I threw away my days

The fears bestowed far away
But still the world remained there

It was like dying

When darkness was my only light

A feeling denied
This creature inside

A fiend to be tamed
By sipping it's bane
