Wistful Wanders


I remember walking down the shore
Gazing across the sea
It's hard to think this will be no more
And all there will ever be

And I remember running through the woods
Peering through the trees
Thinking there was something looking down on us
But we have been left to freeze

Here we stand, in the trembling cold
The winds whisper despair
But our spirits will remain after we die out
And once the end draws near

So take us from life
But our memories cannot fade, and cannot die
They will wake from death

Standing still in time
Stranded without light

Every day I am reminded
Of these carefree times
Oblivious to the light and fire
But we can no longer hide
For inside of me
By a truth I abide
It's killing me
Deep inside

Every moment I shall remember
When we were filled with desire
And had a passion
For all with life
Deep in my mind
Knowing we all will die
It burns inside
