This was a test to weigh my options
you make it so easy it can't be true
I rip the page off line for line (word for word)
cut and stitch to make it fit to you.

do you think you're something else
besides a character I've read about a thousand times?
it's the same old name recycled and reused
and brother I'd be the first one to say
told you so.

This was a test and you failed it.
and there were so many ways to get it right.
convince yourself I must be wrong
whatever helps you sleep at night

a vivisection has begun
a moment of silence for the art
