Tekst piosenki:

Long ago in joy and play,
we kissed beneath the moon.
My sense was lost in love and swoon,
when shone the lunar ray.

We played ‘midst the shadows of midnight,
no sorrow by our side.
But insidious he, who lurked out of sight,
and stole my beautiful bride.

She fell asleep in the warmth of my arms,
the air was damp and raw.
Our minds concerned with nought of harm
beneath the trepid twin claw.

How awful was that gruesome beast
whose claws incised her flesh,
whose thirst for blood was not appeased
until he’d torn her flesh.

He sprung from out the darkest nook,
attacking from the skies.
Sulphur smell and burning eyes,
in blood and screams my bride he took.

He slaughtered thus my life's one spark,
he tore her trembling skin,
a beautiful flower untainted by sin,
then returned to the deepest dark.

My cry was the sound of a soul that sears
and in loneliness I shed
over her who died unwed
a river of nocturnal tears.

Cold, alone beneath the bowers
over her who died unwed,
I wept for endless, endless hours,
for now my vivid bride was dead.

O, night of horror, blood and tears,
of hatred and of screams
of hunger, love and fleshmade fears,
of sweet but broken dreams.

She said she'd leave me never
and love my soul forever.
She said she'd love me into death,
and so she did - to her last breath.

Burial rite in blooming spring,
a coffin robed in black.
In mourning for her this dirge i sing,
but, alas, for I want her back.

Thus I went, my heart was torn,
where Dianas light adorned her
marble tomb (My love! Forlorn!)
in the graveyard where I mourned Her.

Endless was my seething sorrow,
comfortless the breathing morrow.
Beauty torn to bleeding flesh
and left was but a bloodsoaked dress.

Recalling her stand in the morning gleam
my once so lively bride doth seem
as but the painful memory of…
…a sweet and unearthly dream.

By a gaudy meadow
on the brightest of summer days
by verdant bushes of mistletoe
in the brightest of solar rays

beneath a weeping willow
I sit and cry
in my seething sorrow
and I want to die

when suddenly before me
stands my shining bride
and mellow she implores me
to join her by her side.

She speaks to me with love in voice:
"Beloved, take my hand
eternally we shall rejoice
in undead lovers land’

I said I'd leave you never
and love your soul forever
even past my mortal breath
and from beyond the gorge of death.

So take my hand and walk with me
into the stagnant pond
a portal to the land beyond,
beneath the water lilies."

"Beloved, yes, my soul is thine
thy wish is my command,
toghether till the end of time,
now take my trembling hand!"
