Killing Time


S’pose I saw it coming
But no-one else could know
When it’s over they will thank me
So glad to see me go
But I tried and tried and I tried
But I could not shake the feeling
That life holds more than just to struggle on
And suicide is not the way to happiness
But solitude is hell

In my hour of madness
God has heard my cry
I close my ears in silence
But still he speaks inside
Unrelenting pressure needs undeserving grace
And the fool blames God for his own mistakes

I tried and I tried and it’s crazy
But still I find I’m killing time
As the killing time draws near

I’m on the verge of self destruction
But there’s nowhere else to go
My life is in the balance
And the killing time is slow

But I tried and tried and I tried

Screaming out to Jesus
He will hear my cry
I’ve nothing left to live for
But I don’t want to die

Emptiness constrains me from
The place where I belong
Where God gives hope
When all hope is gone

We’ve got to stop this killing time
Suicide is not the answer (repeat x3)
