crooked teeth and cherry cola
curse this world and flip the bronco
two ghosts kick black sand around the hillside
ill will emanates from voices
of coyotes in the moonlight
needle pry the eye from socket
once youve seen the yucca tree
behind the burning jelly donut

you rot, swelling dog beneath the trailer
putrid decomposing fluid fill the river to your maker
two dogs rally sadly round the coffin
they can’t recognize the feeling
though they feel it fairly often
father pry the love from family
til the desert teems with life
in your right hand bleeds the whip
and in my left hand lives the knife
