Aftershock - Nocturnal Mind

"Hahahaha! Watch out - Here I come again
It's your nocturnal mind! Guess what?
I'm here to make you scream!"

A tortured sky - And late at night
I walked a lonely road
Came across a cemetery
Secluded - All alone
I know I walked this road before
This place had never been
What a trick, this play, upon my eyes
That sets my heart to cry

I gathered up my senses then
Suppressed my well-found fear
Made my way up to the gate
And entered - And I saw
Radiating from stately, ancient sepulchre
A horrid light, before my eyes
The slab, it moved away!

The scene it searched into my soul
In vain I tried to turn
A figure rose and saw me there
Or felt my presence, froze
He laughed and raised his arms
And called - In some unknown cant
The trees became his arms and hands
They bound me to the ground

I thrashed and twist my horrors 'round
They fought me in return
The sky grew wicked fingers
The branches started to burn
I pressed myself upon the earth
And screamed my eyes open
I found I woke - Upon my bed
With branches all around!


"Hahaha! I got you, didn't I?
Watch out, cause I'm back!
