Once - Forlorn In The Dark

When colorful lights
And a fireplace
Protect us from the cold.
We listen to stories and fairytales
To delight our souls

We dance together
Laugh together
Far into the night.
In disregard of that creature
That hides
From candlelight.

Forlorn in the dark
It starts to hark
To the angels song
To remind where it belongs.

It tries to snatch the familiar light
But when it’s reached it dies
But out of the lightful source
Its amorphed body rises.
