To see the world, inhabit a man
Inevitable death, a worthless streak
Cascade of distraction, suffering among
Idyllic promises, the soul will never keep

Blind to conviction, forfeit existence
Sentenced by naivety
Devotion to failure, embodied loss
Conforming to my own decay
Obscuring myself, in solitude
To paint my life with my own twin
Miserable purpose, confusing betrayal
Violating yourself from within

Each day imprisoned, rejected and feared
Isolated, intentions concealed
A blessing of evil, a crown of hope
A traceless farewell in a world of ultimate tragedy

And death is final, no time to rewrite
From within my wounds etched in spite
Doomed to serve, no longer to fight
Take my darkness in light of my light
