Cotton Cat - The Raggle-Taggle Gypsies

Three Gypsies came to our hall door
And they played brave and boldly-o
The one sang high and the one sang low
And the other sang the raggle-taggle Gypsy-o!

It was down the stairs that the lady went,
Put on her suit of leather-o
And there was a cry from around the door:
"She’s away with the raggle-taggle Gypsy-o!"

It was late at night that the lord returned
Enquiring for the lady-o
And the servant girl replied to the lord:
"She’s away with the raggle-taggle Gypsy-o!"

"Oh, saddle to me my milk white steed
My big horse is not speedy-o
And I shall ride and seek my bride
She’s away with the raggle-taggle Gypsy-o!"

Now he rode east and he rode west.
He rode north and south also.
And when he came to the middle of the plain
It was there that he found his lady-o!

"Oh, how could you leave your house and your land?
How could you leave your money-o?
How could you leave your newly wedded lord?
All for the raggle-taggle Gypsy-o!"

"Oh, what care I for my house and my land?
What care I for money-o?
What care I for my newly wedded lord?
I'm off with the raggle-taggle Gypsy-o!"
