Cloven Altar - The Mythic Age

In the distant past
An era meant to last
The heart of nature was still strong

Crystal rivers flowed
Through golden fields below
As echoed in the minstrel's song

And as I gaze upon the land
Now ravaged by the stench of man
My heart cries out in rage


When the light of stars shines over me
I recall the distant memory
Of a time untainted by the lull of our fortune, greed, and control
And it's in my soul forevermore
The mythic age


As the world turns
Societies will burn
Under great pressure from their kings

As the lust for power
Beckons the final hour
No mortal fears what warfare brings

And as my heart sinks deeper still
Their false ambitions are fulfilled
Confined by our own cage
