Great, lofty past is your Fatherland

There is something else what makes this country different from others
These sounds in your ears since your childhood
Fills places, street, houses
Familiar noise - your languge which shines

Sieniewicz's novels
From this language you derive strenght
Krasicki's wise fairy tales
Słowacki's poems
Richness of your experiencess is your Fatherland
Is your Fatherland

And nowadays you live in so rich country
Your history, language, art - that three flowers
You hold in your hands as the inherance of generations
They must continue to bloom in order to country still keep on

Without the history, language, art
Without the wisdom of this science
Nation will turn into nameless country
Nowadays Fatherland is in need
Waits for you, believes in you
Thousands years of history looks at your heart

You have to defend the best
so that will serve to Poland still
